Amsterdash: Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Amsterdash has no accounts. You never give us an email address, a password or a name, unless you choose to put a name on the leaderboard. This page explains exactly what the game stores and where.
What stays on your device
The game saves your progress in your device's local storage. It never leaves your device:
- your best score and your stroopwafels
- your settings (sound, music)
- what you bought in the shop
- a random number the game made up, used only as the key to your own leaderboard row
- the name you chose for the leaderboard, if you entered one
- a counter of how many separate days you have played
Deleting the app, or clearing the site data, erases all of it.
What we send to our server
The leaderboard, only if you join it
If you enter a name and submit a score, we store one row containing:
- the name you typed (1 to 16 characters; names with swear words are refused)
- your score, the distance you rode, and the time you set it
- a replay of the ride: the number that generated the route, plus the sequence of keys you pressed
The replay is there so a score can be checked by re-playing it with the same simulation. It contains nothing about you, only the route and the steering. The row is filed under the random number on your device, not under anything that identifies you.
Anonymous game statistics
When a ride ends, the game sends one row with: the distance, the score, what you crashed into, the stroopwafels you collected and spent, whether you used a spare bike, which power-up you took, the date, and which play-day it is for this device.
There is no identifier in these rows. They cannot be linked to each other, to your leaderboard row, or to you. We use them to see how far a normal ride gets, so we can set the prices in the shop sensibly. Nothing else.
Advertising
There are no ads, not in the app and not on the website. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and the app will ask for your consent in the European Union before any ad is shown.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no email addresses, no passwords.
- No cookies.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no request to do so.
- No third-party analytics. The only figures we keep are the anonymous ones described above.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The game never asks for those permissions.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Where the data is stored
Leaderboard rows and the anonymous statistics are stored in Google Firebase
Firestore, in Google's europe-west4 region (the Netherlands).
Google acts as our hosting provider; see
Firebase's privacy
information. Like any web service, their servers log the technical details
of a request (such as an IP address) for security and abuse prevention. We do
not use those logs and cannot connect them to a player.
Removing your leaderboard entry
Email us the name you used and we will delete that row. You can also simply never enter a name: the game is fully playable without the leaderboard.
Reporting a name
Tap the flag next to a name on the leaderboard to report it. The game then hides that name on your device, and sends us the reported row, the name and the time. Nothing about you goes with it. We remove names that break the rules, usually within a few days.
Children
Amsterdash is made for a general audience. It requires no personal data to play, and it collects none from anyone, whatever their age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.

Amsterdash: Privacyverklaring
Laatst bijgewerkt: 6 oktober 2026
Googles regio europe-west4 (Nederland). Google is daarbij onze
hostingpartij.
